Aqua Illinois

Lead Service Line Replacement Draft Plans

Aqua Illinois is required by law to develop an inventory to identify the number of suspected lead service lines in addition to creating and implementing a comprehensive plan to replace those service lines within a required timeframe. In accordance with the law, Aqua Illinois will submit a draft lead service line replacement plan in 2024, 2025, and 2026, and a final plan by 2027. Upon approval of the plan by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, Aqua Illinois anticipates it will then replace 5% to 7% of necessary water service lines each year.

Pursuant to the law signed in January 2022, the Lead Service Line Replacement and Notification Act (LSLRNA) (Public Act 102-0613), lead service line replacement plans are posted below:*
