Red: We do not recommend traveling, as conditions to fully guarantee the safety of the traveler do not exist, and there are no facilities to carry out tourist activities.
Orange: We do not recommend traveling; although it is possible to do so safely, there are no facilities for tourism or recreational activities.
Yellow: It is possible to travel, as conditions exist to do so safely at least in some locations near the disaster area (close enough so that money spent during the trip helps reconstruction efforts), and facilities for tourist and recreational activities are available.
Lime Green: Traveling is recommended, as there are acceptable safety guarantees and facilities for recreational tourism.
Green: Full guarantees exist for the traveler’s safety, and all infrastructure and tourist facilities are operating normally.
Our recommendation is to travel to places with a classification between lime green and yellow. It is in these cases that the traveler is able, with reasonable safety, to support the local recovery efforts through their travel expenses. It is important for travelers to conduct their own pre-travel research to decide if the conditions offered for their visit are acceptable to each personally and to ensure they have the most updated information on the areas that they plan to visit.
Additionally, it is important to mention that TravelAid does not recommend, under any circumstances, visiting the most damaged areas where no facilities exist for tourist activities. We firmly believe in maintaining a respectful distance from areas where people may have suffered directly from the natural disaster and faced material and human losses. In that sense, there is a clear dividing line between supporting by traveling to areas near the disaster while accepting non-ideal conditions, and choosing to travel to affected zones where basic shortages or suffering still exist we strongly believe that this line must be respected at all times, and we trust that the ethics and moral values of our travelers will allow them to make the best decisions during their trip.

Naranja: no recomendamos viajar, ya que a pesar de que es posible hacerlo en forma segura, no se cuentan con facilidades para el turismo ni actividades recreativas
Amarillo: es posible viajar, ya que existen las condiciones para hacerlo en forma segura al menos en algunos lugares cercanos al desastre, (lo suficientemente cercanos para que el dinero gastado durante el viaje ayude a los esfuerzos de reconstruccion) y existen facilidades para las actividades turisticas y recreativas
Verde limón: es recomendable viajar, ya que existen garantias de seguridad aceptables y facilidades para el turismo recreativo
Verde: Existen garantias plenas para la seguridad del viajero y toda la infraestructura y facilidades turisticas estan funcionando en forma normal.
Nuestra recomendación es viajar a lugares que tengan una clasificación entre verde limón y amarillo, ya que es en estos estados en los cuales el viajero puede, con una seguridad razonable, apoyar a los esfuerzos locales de recuperación mediante los gastos de su viaje, es importante que el viajero haga una investigación propia previa al viaje para que pueda tomar la decisión de si las condiciones que se ofrecen para su visita son aceptables y se cuente con la información mas actualizada de las zonas que se pueden visitar. También es importante mencionar que TravelAid no recomienda en ningún caso la visita a las zonas mas dañadas y en las cuales no existan facilidades para la realización de actividades turísticas, creemos firmemente que se debe mantener una distancia respetuosa a aquellas zonas en las cuales pueda existir gente que ha sufrido directamente el desastre natural y ha enfrentado perdidas materiales y humanas. Existe en ese sentido una clara linea divisoria entre apoyar viajando a zonas cercanas al desastre, aceptando condiciones no-ideales y el elegir viajar a zonas afectadas donde exista aún carencias básicas o sufrimiento de los afectados, y la posición de TravelAid es que esa linea se debe respetar en todo momento, y confiamos en que la ética y valores morales de nuestros viajeros les permitan tomar las mejores decisiones durante su viaje.
